Semi-arid vegetation patches, typical Mediterranean garrigue. Shrubland dominanated by Quercus coccifera (coscoja) and grasslands patches dominated by Stipa tenacissima. Smooth hilly quaternary sedimentary landscape, with soil layers of clay and silt intermingled with some gypsum. The aspect was all NW and the slope was about round 20-25 degress. Rabbit poo were present and patches of gypsum were avoided. dominant species: Quercus coccifera, Stipa tenaccisima, Stipa capensis, Colutea arborescens, Rhamnus lycioides. Historical uses with sheep grazing, fire wood cutting (the big trees) and rabbit hunting. Now (last 50 years) abandon (but the hunting) and the vegetation is recovering. |
