Mature evergreen oak (Quercus rotundifolia) at a granitic place in the lowlands of the Sierra de Madrid, besides Hoyo de Manzanares town. Quercus rotundifolia forest (ECM) with Cistus ladanifer (ECM) and Juniperus oxicedrus (AM). Wet soil as it rained recently. Open forest of Quercus rotundifolia, dominated by Cistus ladanifer, with the presence of Juniperus oxicedrus, Lavandula stoechas and many annual mediterranean species. Ant mounds cattle dung, and wild boar rooting were present and avoided for the samples. Livestock were abundant and the presence of sheep. |
