Baikal Lake northern shore, Priolkhon’e Area near Naratey camping hotel. Polydominant rocky steppe on S – faced slope of hill with calcareous rock outcrops near the top (not in the plot). Priolkhon’e is known as a driest area aroun Baikal with the rate of annual precipitations ca. 200 mm; Herb and dwarf shrub cover 50%, Bryophytes and lichens cover 20%. Herb layer a little bit looser, than in B1, lichen cover a little denser. Dwarf-shrubs and herbs: Stipa krylovii, Festuca cf. valesiaca, Agropyron distichum, Artemisia sp., A. frigida, Heteropappus altaicus, Selaginella sanguinalenta, S. rupestris, Potentilla acaulis, Telaxis aristata, Orostachis spinosa, Ptylotrichum tenuifolium, Androsace incana, Hypsophila patrinii, Saussurea salicifolia, Scutellaria baikalensis, Iris pumila, Seratula centauroides, Jungia tenuifolia, Cymbaria dahurica, Thermopsis lanceolata, Dendranthema zavadskii, Thalictrum sp., Allium sp., Oxytropis spp., Thymus sp., Carex sp. etc.
Mosses and lichens: Evernia spp., Cetraria sp., Didymodon spp., etc. Absent or very weak, as pasture |
