A dry boreal pine forest, analogous to Estonian Vaccinum myrtillus site type. Tree layer consists of Pinus sylvestris of about 30 years old (50-60 years old in some places). Microrelief is heterogeneous, with some pieces of granite rock. In neighbouring areas, soil is quite sandy. Landscape is quite forested, despite of industrial and urban areas nearby. Besides dominant Pinus sylvestris there are some individuals of Betula pendula. Dominants are Vaccinium vitis idea and Pleurozium schreberi, abundant are Vaccinium myrtillus. Also occur Empetrum nigrum, Cladina sp., Cetraria islandica, Dicranum undulatum and Arctostaphylos uva ursi. The site is near to a small road and a small hotel, has been clearfelled in the past and has had a lot of air pollution. |
