Natural steppe on a hill foot, moderate grazing, species-rich, dominant grass Stipa krylovii, many different forbes. "True steppe" vegetation type, mostly grasses & forbes, occasionally smal shrubs. Site is not heavily grazed, vegetation is low; > 35 cm height. Soil is dark and fertile. some marmot burrowings in the ground. Site is on a mountain slope, but not very steep. On the opposite side of mountain, there's Larix forest. Vegetation is not very dense, there are batches of bare ground. Dominant and other common plant species: Stipa krylovii, Agropyron cristatum, Elymus chinensis, Artemisia frigida, Potentilla acaulis, Allium sp. Site is disturbed by marmots and domestic animals such as sheep and horses. |
